I am a shareholder of the Davis Brown Law Firm. As a member of the firm's Business Division, my practice encompasses health law with a primary emphasis on long-term care, nursing practice and home health issues. I routinely represent long-term care providers in federal and state regulatory administrative appeals, I assist home health agencies with compliance and reimbursement issues and I assist nursing clients with a wide variety of legal and practice issues. I have been an adjunct instructor at Des Moines Area Community College in Long Term Care Health Administration, as well as a regular speaker and contributor to Iowa Health Care Association educational seminars.Prior to joining Davis Brown, I practiced in a wide array of health care settings as a registered nurse, including hospital nursing (intensive care, medical surgical, orthopedics, and skilled nursing), home health care (both county-government and hospital based) and as a consultant for the Iowa Department of Public Health and Drake University Center for Health Issues. I have served in both staff nurse and administrative capacities.
