I work with clients on a range of sustainability programs and research and development of low carbon/net zero strategies. Over my career, I have written for many different clients and for many different purposes from engineering consultancy reports; funding applications; government policies, strategies and guidelines to event marketing; websites; social media and e-newsletters. My speciality is environmental and sustainability writing but my understanding and background in community education and engagement, as well as my grounding in the sciences, means I can comfortably write for any audience. I am particularly adept at translating complex, technical information into plain English for non-expert readers. Recent work includes the content for an environmental website and a $9million grant application to build climate resilience and create local employment opportunities.

I was contracted to oversee council's climate change and sustainability programs. I developed council's first Climate Emergency Response Program, which included writing their Corporate Carbon Reduction Plan. I managed all of council's renewable energy and energy efficiency works program. I was also responsible for council's carbon reporting. I administered a community environmental grants program and I also oversaw Council's coastal management planning.

I was responsible for the promotion of renewable energy across northern NSW. I supported the emergence of regional cross-sector projects around renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. I built diverse networks and professional relationships with many stakeholders including government, business and industry, and community.

I led the sustainability section of the council and was responsible for both internal (corporate) and external (community/business) sustainability projects. Whilst at Coffs I successfully won over $3million of state and federal funding for projects including Australia's largest (at the time) local government solar PV installation; an award winning community-led environmental place-making program (still running with huge success) and the mid north coast's first and only sustainability festival, showcasing local businesses and sustainable living (also still running after 11 years). Internally I developed the council's first Climate Change Policy and its first Renewable Energy and Emissions Reduction Plan, setting ambitious but realistic targets based on scientific rigour. I am also very proud that I instigated, and won funding for, Coffs first regional community garden and set up council guidelines for other groups - this has supported a further two community gardens being successfully set up.

I had the great opportunity to work across a range of fantastic projects. I was responsible for the acoustics of the $213million Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Redevelopment, during both design and construction phases. I oversaw acoustic aspects of the City Recital Hall in Angel Place, including acoustic modelling of the auditorium and overseeing the construction phase with its complex building isolation (mounted on springs). I led the acoustic design of the mechanical services for both this venue and the Walsh Bay Theatre. I completed the design for the PA systems for the Olympic Tennis Centre and the Olympic Velodrome. I undertook numerous environmental acoustics projects including parts of the Pacific Highway upgrade.

During my time working with Arup in the UK I was lucky enough to work on such varied projects as the Manchester Concert Hall and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden.

Singapore

I led the acoustics section at Vipac's Singapore office. Projects included the acoustic design aspects (mechanical and building) for several prestigious hotels in Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.
