That’s me, as the Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) executive director.Being a part of WiCyS for years, I’ve been grateful to be connected to a community that with each and every action, continues to support the recruitment, retention and advancement of women into the fantastically ever-evolving and engaging field of cybersecurity.✅ Together. We are the diverse mindset that solves problems that have never existed before.✅ Together. We fill the void of cybersecurity talent into the workforce.✅ Together. We rise and thrive in cybersecurity careers within our community.I joined the WiCyS leadership team from the Chicagoland area where, since 2012, being a solution-oriented strategist with over 20 years of experience aligning businesses, nonprofits and grants with their initiatives and business outcomes. I’m so grateful that over the last 16 years, I’ve worked intensely within the cybersecurity education sector, having active roles in grant-funded programs and nonprofits that assist in providing educational solutions to the cybersecurity workforce.The energy of women, allies and advocates making such a commitment to themselves and others by joining the WiCyS community is contagious. Together, students, industry professionals, government, and academia are expanding to have diversity as part of the equation in solving the cybersecurity workforce shortage. Honored to receive an honorary degree, Doctor of Science & Technology (Champlain College) in May 2024, acknowledged by CS Hub as one of the top 25 cybersecurity leaders for 2024, received the Peoples Choice award for Cybersecurity Woman of the Year, received the “Light that Shines" by EmpoWE-R Women of Infosec, acknowledged as Top 100 Women in Cybersecurity by Cyber Defense Magazine, accepted the nonprofit Ally of the Year award for WiCyS in 2021 and 2020, contributor to the book "The Privacy Leader Compass," and foreword to the book "Stronger Together: Women in Cybersecurity." Proud to have served on the International Judging Panel for the IFSEC Global “Top Influencers & Fire”, an advisory board member for Women in Cybersecurity - Beyond Borders, and an inaugural member of the (ISC)2 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Task Force. I love spending each day working towards #BetterTomorrows. I enjoy my family, bluegrass music, camping, hiking, my dog, and drinking coffee on my front porch.
