ICF is a non-profit organization in Northern California for the advancement of research and education of Forensic Evidence and Human Remains Detection Dog teams.My dog, Piper, and I have been a certified HHRD team since April 2012 and have worked numerous historical and prehistoric burial location projects.

Officially I am retired and loving it ... but busier than I have ever been in my life.I'm extremely busy working with Human Remains and Historical Human Remains Detection dogs as a volunteer with the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office. My dog, Piper, and I recently (5/2013) certified as a Human Remains Detection team.I am also very active as a Canine Search Specialist with California Task Force 3, one of 8 Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Task Forces in Ca, and 28 FEMA task forces. I work a FEMA-certified disaster search dog with them. I am also a FEMA rostered chief evaluator for the disaster search dog program and travel around the US in that capacity. I am a Lead Instructor for the Canine Search Specialist Training course.In my spare time, I work with several law enforcement agencies doing maintenance training for their explosives, narcotics and arson detection dog teams.I also work with the International Bird Rescue Research Center and recently spent three weeks rehabilitating oiled sea birds in Louisiana.

I currently work a live-find FEMA/CalOES-certified disaster search dog named Sweep and a FEMA/CalOES-certified Human Remains Detection dog names Piper. I am also qualified as a Technical Search Specialist and Search Team Manager with CA-TF3.

1SRG was an elite unit of specialized search and rescue personnel. It was a quick response SAR team that worked mostly at special requests from families, via the US Department of State, if loved ones went missing while overseas. Domestically 1SRG would, when requested, assist SAR units in difficult cases. The unit was disbanded in early 2013.

I initially began my career as a contractor at NASA Ames as an Electrical Designer and Project Manager. In 1987 I joined the Disaster Assistance & Rescue Team as a rescue specialist and working my way to Training Officer of the Team.
