About Lynne Craig

I design the conditions to spark change. My practice connects design, technology, education and business development; exploring the frontiers of emergent technologies and cultural change. I like to play somewhere between the creative and the complex. I help other makers, educators, and business owners to find opportunity in the anomalies and outliers that emerge when different worlds intersect. I collaborate with technologists, designers, engineers, and CEOs to challenge conventions and design new applications for emerging technologies.I'm a translatorI am fluent in the language of design, business, and education and use a vocabulary I've developed over decades to unite and ignite them all. I’ve brought together London College of Fashion with anthropology and technology research and education, founding Digital Anthropology Lab. I’ve opened up doors between global luxury brands and technology, pioneering Augmented Reality for retail since 2008.I'm reclaiming the definition of a maker.Throughout my career I’ve built businesses, created products, designed systems, and continue to reimagine what the role of making in design, education, and business looks like for tomorrow. I have designed and built business delivering new ways to imagine augmented reality, making Patented applications of technology for retail environments. My involvement with students at Digital Anthropology Lab, London College of Fashion included a shape-shifting garment to defend, an IoT enabled geo-located garment system to assist with eco-washing cycles, an inflatable garment to highlight latent desire, a squishy interface, a post-Anthropocene digital artefact grown digitally, and a remote embodied theatre performance delivered on Zoom. I've been called a catalystMy role is often defined by crafting new conditions that will unleash knowledge, prompt unexpected tensions, and ignite the minds of others. I am regularly invited to chair conferences and deliver keynotes globally, including Amazon Fashion, Asian Fashion Summit, Decoded Fashion and Pi Apparel Europe. My work has been featured in NY Times, Financial Times, BBC World News, Huffington Post, Dezeen, Wired, Telegraph, Tatler.
