About Lynne Deangelis

I can vividly remember the freedom of galloping at full speed on the sandy trail through the forest by my childhood home. That sure-footed mare eagerly anticipated the entrance where I would rest my head on her mane and let her fly! Exhilaration like that burns in one's memory and I owe that experience to my mentor-friend who trusted me to care for her horses in exchange for riding. For an eleven-year-old, this barter was more than fair and turned out to be an opportunity that opened my eyes to a world of possibilities and the confidence to go after them. Horses were an integral part of my youth and it was the lessons learned during that crucial developmental period that shaped my character and core values. Discipline, commitment, hard work, and responsibility are easy trade-offs when you are doing something you love. That work ethic served me well as I was able to work full-time as a live-in stable manager and pay my way through college. I obtained a degree in computer science, then accounting, and finished up with an MBA. Over the past 30 years in the workforce what has been most memorable are the experiences I had with three, very different start-ups. The first was as a programmer contracting with Mack Trucks to automate their seven parts distribution centers. Using C+ and Visual Basic we programmed a barcode data collection system that integrated radio frequency hand-held terminals to a PC and then to the client's mainframe. The second opportunity was developing a new animal science program for Delaware Valley College. I was part of a small team that created the Equine Science curriculum and the Equestrian Training facility on the campus of the college. The third was assisting an owner build a wholesale and retail bakery business which I then managed the operations and supervised 15+ employees. Although these settings were diverse, the environments were rich with creativity, challenges, and passionate individuals. These experiences provided a great opportunity to develop strong interpersonal, networking, technical, problem-solving, teaching, leadership, and managerial skills.
