Quality and Performance Manager was the initial position title but dept revised roles and position title changed May 2012, undertaking quality audits and assessments of service to current regulation and expectation of service policy. I was also supporting training and development of the staff team in relation to regulation and development of their service and driving improvement and quality with operational staff and management teams I have continued to undertake on my role as compliance manager and supporting operational managers and staff teams through internal quality and compliance audits and development to drive improved outcomes for people using our services. But also took on more specialist elements and support regarding care regulation, registrations, support to operational staff with inspections and outcomes of inspections from regulators. Advising and supporting our directors and senior management team of elements of regulation changes and development. I also support and mentor peers through their compliance visits and supporting services.

Kent And Sussex

I transferred the NCSC in 2002 at the height of changes within care regulation, and grew in personal development of regulation and quality assurance of care homes in Kent/Medway and Sussex areas. I undertook regulatory assessments of care homes, nursing homes, fostering agencies and residential special schools. I was privileged to undertake an acting Regulatory Manager role for 8 months supporting and managing a small team of regulation inspectors and their caseload and enforcement duties.

Tunbridge Wells Kent

I managed a 4 bed respite service with over 150 adults with learning disability and brain acquired injuries offering respite care to them and their carers. Alongside this, I managed a community support service offering housing, daily living learning and developmental support to adults with learning disabilities, mental health and ABI, in the local community and a team of 12 support workers supporting them from 1- 15 hours a week in their own homes/ rented accommodation.

The Hedgerow Respite Care Service

I was privileged to be asked by KCC adult service management team to transfer to this exciting and new project, setting up the service, development of the building and environment, recruit the new staff team and develop a respite client list for the Maidstone and surrounding areas. This was an amazing opportunity and one of great development and growth to myself as a manager and individual as well as our staff team. In the 5 years at this service the clientele grew from 0- over 200 people accessing and using the service for short breaks and respite care.

Tonbridge Staffed Housing Scheme

I joined the project supporting people transferring from long stay hospital in to community care living. This was a new project with the development of 6 house/ bungalows in the Tunbridge and Hildenborough area of Kent. I managed the services, staff teams, budgets, estates management, service users development and health and work prospects within the local community. I spent a lot of time supporting people with the benefit applications and finance monitoring.
