As the Weather Director of Valparaiso University Television, I, along with my Assistant Weather Director, schedule daily taped weather updates, weekday LIVE weather broadcasts, and talent for weekly newscasts. The both of us are responsible for the taping, editing, exporting, and posting of these updates. At the beginning of the year, I assign mentors to new students, as well as be a mentor and a leader to everyone else. I am the Co-Vice President of Valparaiso University Television along with the News Director.In addition to work at Valparaiso University Television, I serve as a Teaching Assistant for Weathercasting, a class where a broadcast meteorologist comes in a teaches students broadcast meteorology technique, critique, and tricks of the trade.

As the Assistant Weather Director of Valparaiso University Television, I, along with the Weather Director, schedule daily taped weather updates and talent for weekly newscasts. The both of us are responsible for the taping, editing, exporting, and posting of these updates. I was a mentor to two separate students and a leader to everyone else. One main task I had was writing the content and serving as co-host of Valparaiso University Television's weather talk show: The Cold Front.

I work alongside Tom Skilling two nights a week producing weather content for the Chicago Tribune. I gather weather data vital to each forecast, and I gather maps for Tom Skilling to produce graphics. I also work with Meteorologist Duffy Adkins on green screen techniques.

Rockford, Illinois Area

Work in both Weather and News Departments. While working in News, I go out on stories with MMJs, gathering vital information to carry the story. I shoot stand-ups, as well as still shots. I interview people, asking questions vital to the heart of the story. I am utilizing Avid Newscutter to cut tape and record audio. I am also responsible for prompting the 5 and 6 o'clock live newscasts.While working in Weather, the first thing I do is forecast, coming up with one that is completely my own. During the 5 and 6, I make a graphic or two using WSI TruVu Max to help explain the current weather story. This graphic is then used in later newscasts by the meteorologists. I update the forecast for the station's website, as well as upload the video forecast. If there is severe weather, I assist with collecting storm reports and relaying warning information to the meteorologist. After the newscasts, I practice on the chroma key wall, and record a few weather hits, as well as teases to use in my resume reel.

I held an open tutoring session for students in Pre-Calculus. I was available for help on various topics relating to trigonometry and pre-calculus.
