Over my career, I have led a broad range of complex, multidisciplinary initiatives in the areas of strategic planning, project management, organizational transformation, capital infrastructure development, and business and service launches.Currently, I am the General Manager of the amazing Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, FL. where I oversee and manage all aspects of our facilities to include exhibition halls, a 9,000 seat arena, and ballroom/meeting rooms. Before joining the Ocean Center, I served 23 years as the Assistant General Manager for Cobb Marietta Coliseum & Exhibit Hall Authority and oversaw the successful delivery of services for 2 award-winning venues: Cobb Galleria Center and Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. I was a member of the Executive Committee and work alongside the CEO in establishing long-range goals, strategies, and policies, while inspiring a culture of performance. I prepared annual operating and CAPEX budgets, oversaw property management, and leasing activities of the Shops to include the leasing and construction of restaurants.Additionally, I participated in the development of the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre and the start-up of the ArtsBridge Foundation. From the first strategy meeting, I worked alongside county visionaries and the CEO on the feasibility study for the creation of the venue and funding models raising over $140 million. Prior to entering the convention industry, I served as SVP of Finance with Zoo Atlanta, where I was instrumental in transforming the zoo from the worst in the country (as rated by Parade Magazine) into one of the top-rated zoos in the county. Over my tenure, I implemented the groundbreaking plan for taking the public zoo to a private nonprofit, participated in fundraising initiatives for its redevelopment and franchised McDonald’s, Ben & Jerry’s, and Nathan’s Famous. During my career, I have balanced the demands of my professional life with active community volunteer leadership in non-profit organizations dedicated to serving disadvantaged individuals, empowering women, and protecting endangered animals. I have been the recipient of multiple awards including Atlanta Magazine’s “Change Makers in Women Making a Mark”, YWCA’s “Women of Achievement”, and Charity Navigator’s 4-Star rating for sound fiscal leadership.
