Analyzed new developments in business and industries, as well as trends in how people use the yellow pages, to determine which headings we offered to advertisers in our directories. Before I took on this task, the process involved a sales rep calling on an advertiser who was interested in buying an ad under a heading we did not offer, then completing a request and waiting a year or more before being able to sell an ad there. By transforming this to a more proactive process, I was able to have headings for new categories in place before Sales called on the customers, so they did not miss these ad sales opportunities and advertisers did not miss the opportunity to let people trying to find them know that they were in business.
