We recently broke ground on our first Sunflower Hill residential community for special needs individuals in Pleasanton, California. I have been on the board since it formed in 2013, and co-founded and was Director of the Sunflower Hill Gardens, developed the website, led the marketing team/efforts, executive producer of organization's films, and Sunflower Run Director.In 2015 I co-founded with another board member a beautiful 1 acre edible Sunflower Hill Gardens at Hagemann Ranch, designed for special needs individuals. I managed the garden operations thru 2018. We provide educational/vocational programs for special needs individuals in adult transition groups (18-22yrs), adult day programs (22+yrs), family workdays, and have higher functioning individuals as interns. Since breaking ground we have serviced ~200 special needs individuals each year, had >800 volunteers work in the garden, and harvested >40K lbs of produce of which we donated >70% to local food banks serving low income families/individuals (the remainder was sold to restaurants/community). Working with run coordinator 'On Your Mark', I led a committee in planning the run, creating logo/brand materials, promoting the run, raising funds, and defining/coordinating efforts of ~70 volunteers. Although we had less then 5 months to plan/execute the event, over 400 runners registered, we raised over $10K for Sunflower Hill and it was a great success! Show less

The Livermore Valley Film Festival was May 13-15, 2016. The festival’s theme was “Where Science Meets Art”. Independent feature/short films from around the world were screened at the Bankhead Theater and other locations in downtown Livermore, bringing a broad representation of film medium to the Livermore Valley. The festival also included 3 filmmaker workshops and an opening night gala and an awards ceremony.www.livermorefilm.org
