A Colorado native, I am a 1982 graduate of the University of Colorado School of Law. I have focused my practice on representing employers in workers'​ compensation matters since graduation.     I am a founding shareholder and Managing Partner of Ritsema & Lyon. My practice is limited to the defense of employers in workers'​ compensation matters. I have been active in the workers'​ compensation community and have been recognized locally and nationally. In 1989 I served on a Task Force appointed by Joe Donlon, Executive Director of the Department of Labor and Employment, to complete a redraft of the Colorado Workers'​ Compensation Act. I have served on task forces appointed by the National Council on Compensation Insurance and Directors, Bob Summers and Paul Taureillo.I have twice served as the Chairperson of the Workers'​ Compensation Section of the Colorado Bar Association and served on the Executive Committee from 1990 to 1999 and again from 2001 to 2012. I have also served as co-chair of the Workers'​ Compensation Section of the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association and on the Executive Board for Professionals in Workers' Compensation.
