• Used geochemical modeling codes to evaluate the potential physical and chemical environment in the near field of a potential nuclear waste repository at Yucca Mountain, Nevada. • Reformulated the strategic plan to prepare and execute research performed under the DOE’s contract with a non-profit organization. The new plan cut time in half and the overall process was streamlined. • Prepared, executed, and developed reports documenting validation exercise for modeling software for compliance with the DOE. The software was then used to perform research with deliverable results to the DOE in accordance with existing contracts.• Manipulated scientific research data into forms acceptable for use in abstracts, presentations, and publications. This resulted in two abstract and two paper presentations. • Participated in several data modeling projects including nuclear sorption, metal corrosion, and mineral saturation limits.

I am volunteering at the center as a geoscientist on the Lake Ontario Coastal Initiative (LOCI) Phosphorus project. Using field data and computer modeling programs (ArcView with Penn State’s AVGWLF program) we hope to trace the sources of Phosphorus, the effects on Lake Ontario, and come up with some attainable solutions.
