Primarily concerned with advising and supporting the One Voice Impact Advocacy Team through management of budget, expense tracking, coordination and facilitation of meetings, managing youth engagement, as well as onboarding and offboarding of members. Further tasked with legislative affairs tasks such as tracking of relevant bills, support in developing policy priorities on an annual basis, assistance with writing legislation when needed, conducting trips to the Capitol with team members, maintaining contact with legislators, and generally helping to turn our ideas into laws. The Advocacy Council is an elite force of former foster youth that works toward positive policy change in the child welfare space through legislative advocacy.Further tasked with supporting the One Voice Impact National Network, composed of thought leaders in child welfare from across the nation. This includes helping facilitate quarterly calls with state government leaders, child welfare professionals, youth advocates, and other network members on a variety of topics, such as housing, case management, etc. We also anticipate convening of the National Network from time to time, for example at our upcoming Think Tank conference, where we are working with expert researchers from Chapin Hall to develop a handbook of best practices in independent living.

Responsibilities primarily include providing outreach to students with a change to their financial situation as reported on their FAFSA due to special circumstances especially relating to the Coronavirus pandemic. Role includes high-level training and activities that are developing familiarity with Title IV regulations for professional judgement as well as general financial aid administration best practices, regulations, functions, and processes. I assist students, request necessary documentation, and guide them through the process to receive a financial aid adjustment due to the Coronavirus pandemic. I am responsible for collecting all documentation and providing analysis for an adjustment along with notification of eligibility and outcomes in accordance with federal law and other regulations pertaining to professional judgements. A primary focus of the position is assistance with the HEERF III (Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund III, named such as CARES was HERF I and CRSAA was HERF II), given to UWF by the ARP (American Rescue Plan) from US Congress, with regard to regulatory administration of funds in needed situations.

Helping plan student lobbying efforts, promoting civic engagement, and organizing voter outreach initiatives are some of what I did. In addition to this, I served as the liaison to local, state, and national government representatives. In this capacity, I created presentations or written letters that have been on the Governor's desk; I have met with various Senators and Representatives; etc. Furthermore, I also served as the Assistant to the Chair of the Florida Student Association, helping with similar activities on a state-wide level. I have participated in student lobbying on the local, state, and national levels when I served in this role.

Duties included leadership of small groups as they attend first year advising, explore the campus, breakout sessions to learn about the various amenities available to students, etc. Generally, as an OL, I helped acclimate, train, and support new students.

Although I worked for TNI, we were licensed to other companies, and I provided technical support for companies such as Verizon or Frontier. Working in a team environment, and having to constantly communicate with, get advice from, and collaborate with my colleagues gave me valuable experience and skills. teleNetwork helped me develop myself technically and professionally, and was definitely a valuable working experience.
