Part-time advisor. Connecting young women in STEM to education and career opportunities

- Proposed and led an 8 team, 1 year initiative to implement top level Service Level Objectives in Datadog. Broke a trend of critical and high visibility outages to restore customer trust; going from 4 SEV-1s to <1 per month. Established standardized Golden Signal metrics, and a terraform template to generate standardized SLOs in datadog dashboard. Worked with teams to implement these SLOs for all tier 1 services and set appropriate SLO goals. Teams reported their SLO performance to their director every month and adjusted their roadmap to ensure they met their goals.- Led 4 teams to successfully double customer engagement in key product areas within 6 months through streaming of key information to users via communication platform integrations. System operated at ~1000 webhooks/sec with sub second latency. Managed to pivot our architecture and still deliver when company guarantees on webhook latency changed.- Collaborated with 3 other Sr. SWEs to build a new scaled version of the Service graph, the data structure that powers PagerDuty’s premium plans. Having reached the vertical memory scaling limit for our cluster we decided to transition to a DB backed architecture using AWS Aurora and our own consistent caching mechanism in each application replica.- Volunteered to lead the company pro bono effort. Recruited and ran a 6 person team to partner with non-profit Nextleaf in building their Medical Equipment Monitoring program.- Advocated for and led research into a potential new product area. Collaborated with Product to determine the technical and business viability of automating the creation of a core piece of PagerDuty’s configuration by streaming OpenTelemetry trace data., which would unlock a new area of AI Ops for the company. - Identified and filled a gap in business intelligence analytics with a set of Pendo product metrics to better understand customer behavior. These metrics changed our target user persona for our Service Graph feature.

As part of the software team I help build a product that modernizes how travel companies do group travel. The product facilitates inventory and booking management, automates payments and emails, allows for complex pricing models, provides sales analytics, and gives the traveler a personal profile from which to manage their tripsDevelopment- Build new features for the core product’s backend. As part of an internal research team I build various data visualization and analysis web applications. I work with technologies in the areas of:- Big Data: Spark, ElasticSearch, HDFS- Web Development: Go, Javascript, Gulp, NPM, Coveralls, Travis CI, Bamboo- Dev Ops: Docker, ElasticSearch, linux & bash scriptingPreviously I was part of the Influent team, building a tool to help analyze large quantities of financial and geographic data to combat financial crime. On this team I did data ingestion, dockerized applications, and built interactive visualizations and analysis tools.

In this position I developed various data visualization web applications in Angular, automated the statistical analysis of data on Hadoop using Spark, and implemented and Dockerized an automatic backup system for HDFS.

Working with 3 youth, I use simple game design to teach the basics of programming, covering areas such as: algorithms, data structures, command-line and standard I/O, object oriented design, and coding style and documentation.

In this position I was responsible for migrating the company’s C++ Qt application to the Cereal serialization library.

In the course CSC209 - C, Software Tools and Systems Programming - I taught topics such as: pipes, filters, file processing, shell programming, processes, system calls, signals, and basic network programming.

Overseen by David Liu I worked to create an extension of Python in which additions to syntax allow users to verify their programs for correctness. Users are able to declare pre-conditions, post-conditions, loop invariants, and other assertions.

As the senior instructor at the NTKS High Park branch I designed and taught classes, handled registration, inventory, and recruitment. I traveled to mentor and represent my students at tournaments. I also taught adult and Black Belt classes at our main location and studied various other martial arts to enrich our school’s curriculum.
