As my first business, starting the agency from scratch was both terrifying and exhilarating. However, combining my client and agency experience with understanding of how field sales solutions work, and insights into what clients are looking to achieve, I built Orchid, and its secondary agency, into a highly successful field sales & brand experience agency with a turnover of over £8M.Orchid worked with brands to put their products into the hands of consumers and at risk of being sold, using field marketing solutions across all retail channels & experiential campaigns to target and engage consumers at point of purchase.
I was approached by PMI to set up their home entertainment business unit, thanks to my experience of working on the client side of buying in field marketing services and my understanding of the entertainment sector. Over 18 months, I built up the unit working with 5 out of the 6 major home entertainment studios, over achieving my target and increasing net profits by 7%. Demonstrating value underpinned my success; we were no longer pitching on price. This continues today. Having sat both sides of the table as a client and an agency, my mind is focused on where brands really want to get to and the challenges they have in doing that.I was then promoted to Director of Client Services, overseeing 3 business units and the full sales operation before then being promoted to Operations Director responsible for the IT and reporting systems & redesigning a new system from scratch. This gave me valuable insight into the nuts of bolts of how a business fits together. In 2007, I was promoted to MD. During my time at PMI we grew the business from £4M to £11M turnover. I was delighted to be involved in the launching the first global energy drink in the UK

With roles spanning NAM through to Trade Marketing, this was a client-side position, working with all the major UK grocers initially with responsibility for buying in field marketing services. This was an exciting time. DVD was just being launched to market and Harry Potter hit the shelves for the first time. At one point I was managing all four grocers, implementing joint business plans, forming part of the Asda Category Management team and was involved in the implementation of vendor managed inventory launch.
