I'm using the experience I gained from VP New Member Education to help guide the current position holder on planning this large-scale event.

I am responsible for mentoring and educating 65 new members to integrate them into the organization. I am solely responsible for managing a budget of $15,000. I also planned, led, and executed large organization-wide events. I also received the opportunity to attend a weekend-long leadership conference, where I received valuable advice for honing my skills in team management and collaboration.

I was chosen as the sole junior to work on a small team comprised of seniors in the undergraduate UNC BME department to represent the organization. We attend college exploration events and lead tours to promote and explain our major to potential students. We also assist in managing department events.

I apply my MATLAB skills to process aOCT scans of pediatric airways from both therapeutic and laboratory procedures. I attend a weekly lab meeting that either consists of reviewing relevant research papers or attending a presentation of a coworker's research. I am mentored by a Physics post-doctoral student and a Biomedical Engineering graduate student.
