Triton College Academic Advisors are a team of 12 supporting 11k+ students in 7 Pathways. As a part-time Multi-Program Advisor, I empower and support students in their academic journey. I prioritize building rapport with my cohort of first-generation, Honors, and career-focused students and sharing College Resources to ensure their success. I am also a Member of Two Working Groups collaborating to improve transitions for New Adult Learners and Returning Students as well as leveraging Technology Strategies for more proactive and student-focused initiatives. I also assist with Content Writing for Student Learning Opportunities, Outreach, and Retention Actions.

Working with a fantastic team of service-oriented Admissions Associates to create wonderful Guest Experiences at the Zoo. We work all around the park 🐬 🦒 🐐 🦜 connecting hundreds of guests to our animals and conservation efforts. Responsible for supporting and training team members in multiple locations throughout the park such as admissions, tracking attendance, validating tickets, and managing parking control for daily operations and large special events.

Department of History, Religion, and Philosophy: Taught Courses in Early American History (HIST1111) Reimagined the traditional survey course to focus on Indigenous Sovereignty and the Environmental Impacts of Colonial Settlership, the Historical Economics of Racism and Enslavement, and Cultural Strategies of Survival, Worship, and Politics. Students worked with Primary and Secondary Sources in groups to outline historical trends and events.

Teaching Assistant for Undergraduate Communication Courses. Communication the Person, & Everyday Life (COMM100A); Introduction to Video Production (COMM101); Cultural Politics of Sports (COMM11T); Communications, Institutions, and Power (COMM100C); How to Read A Film (COMM103F)

Designed and guided four traditional Humanities Courses to be mixed-reality, multi-modal, and student-led. Created digital pedagogy for both live and online classes that fulfilled Department Learning Outcomes and included advanced cultural competencies and fluency in multiple technologies. Implemented labs for Applied VR/AR in Humanities courses for physical engagement with theoretical concepts.Courses: THE FUTURE (HUM409 Honors and G.E.); American Culture (Hum 370 Honors and Online G.E.)

Re-designed U.S. History (Reconstruction through 21st Century) to incorporate Digital Humanities learning activities for 450 students. Lectures and sections teach and encourage students to observe multiple iterations of events, artifacts, technology, music, etc. through the lenses of gender, race, religion, and class. Assignments such as “HACKS”, Micro-Essays/MACROHACKS, decade mash-ups, blogging, and the use of timelines in sections prompt students to interpret and make “meaning” through a historical context. Learning Outcomes consist of: Students will be able to locate, identify, and cite primary sources in their native format. This will require successful navigation of library and digital resources and adherence to citation protocols; Students will be able to categorize and interrogate the edited and modified sources with attention to Digital Humanities labels.

H109 is United States history from pre-colonial societies to Reconstruction. Contact of cultures, patterns of settlement, contests over racial, ethnic, religious, class, gender, regional, and national identities and institutions. Satisfies the American Institutions requirement in American history and United States Constitution. 450 total students enrolled.This class was re-engineered to be an inverted classroom, with student-led learning activities that included Blogging via WordPress and plotting historical events on TimeRime. Students practiced DH Image analysis in their questioning of the categories of race, religion, gender, and class.Learning Outcomes:1. Identify important socio-political events, individuals, and socio-cultural ideas of American History to Reconstruction.2. Analyze primary sources in the the text, Major Problems in American History, and recognizethe different frameworks of gender, race, class, ethnicity, religion, and culture.3. Communicate effectively and professionally in groups and individually as discussion leaders and/or participants in class.4. Demonstrate correct sentence structure, verbiage, grammar, and “voice” for the appropriate venue-whether that be for writing blog posts and comments, virtual communication on TimeRime, or in formal essays.5. Recognize multiple nations and regions that influenced historical events in early America. Discern inequalities created because of cultural and racial bias and the ramifications to Native American, African-Americans, and Women.

I was hired to be Linda Rose's assistant on a part-time basis, but after a month she decided to pursue her own business that was really taking off-Wait! Don't go! So, a month later there I was, exploring a new career and learning along the way. Thanks to Pat I got to do a lot of different things which I loved and thanks to everyone that worked in-house and for Pro Tem I got to do my work along-side some wonderful people!
