I am an assistant professor in geography at Texas A&M University, with specializations in GIScience, spatial data mining, spatial modeling, emergency management, disaster resilience, and sustainability. I have spearheaded and participated in several research projects funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), USGS, Sea Grant, TAMU Innovation [X] program, etc. For instance, mining location-based social media for disaster resilience, modeling the coastal dynamics through a coupled natural-human system and integrating GIS and citizen science for disaster management. I also teach many GIS/remote sensing related courses, such as GIS programming, geodatabases, introduction to remote sensing, etc.I am recruiting graduate students (M.S. or Ph.D.) as well as visiting scholars/students.
