My roles have spanned a breadth of tasks from ideation-concept to algorithm derivation-implementation-refinement to mechanical/electrical hardware design-build to testing-assessment-revision to reliability testing. I’ve led projects as well as been a contributor, often at the same time. I’ve worked in small and large teams, startups as well as large multi-national corporations. I’ve written grants that have been funded by a number of US agencies. I’ve done a number of consulting gigs that got startups and new product efforts off the ground. Recently, I've started doing some expert witness work which has made me much more aware of word choice in my patent applications.My best contribution is typically in the early stage of product development moving from ill-specified requirements to iterations of functioning prototypes that progress to regulatory approval and production. I like working in new areas, having transformed myself a number of times to become capable in a new area where we made unique, state-of-the-art products.
