I am serving as an advisor for the project of designing an embedded application for gathering and analyzing brain signals on a specialized application runing on windows OS.

Research area: Hw/Sw codesign of a distributed optimizer systems for energy grids. Embedded system design on Jetson Nano clusters: Developing (i) multi-objective optimization software for controlling inter-linked energy grids in islands, and (ii) hardware-software co-design techniques for accelerating it on a cluster of Jetson nano boards, exploiting the maximum performance of their embedded GPUs.

We worked on optimization techniques at system level to best use the distributed computing resources of embedded systems and at the sametime reduce the energy and power in distributed and multiprocessor systems.Comunity Services: Further to service to national/international conferences and journals, I have been most active in international research collaborations, and serving as technical advisor to some startups in IoT and embedded design.

For this, I conducted some master and PhD theses in software optimization techniques (like tuning MLs to run on resource-limited edge devices, tiny MLs, Tiny-LCS), offloading techniques (based on AI/ML, and ILP), distributed learning techniques (like FL/TL) for MLs at edge, and partial acceleration of deep neural networks on pipeline of FPGAs and embedded GPUs (like Jetson Nano clusters). Actually, our work covers many interesting aspects of optimization algorithms, as well as hardware/software accelerators, for big data processing frameworks. During this period, I supervised 27 BSc, 30 MSc, and 3 PhD students. Comunity Services: Further to service to national/international conferences and journals, I have been most active in international research collaborations, and serving as technical advisor to some startups in IoT and embedded design.University Services: I served as deputy dean of education at the Faculty of Engineering of Bu-Ali Sina University for 18 months.
