In my new role as postdoctoral scientist at LIS Lab of Aix-MarseiIle University, inline with my previous research interests, I am working on federated learning-based (FL) optimization and prediction algorithms on distributed embedded GPUs (Jetson Nano boards) in the edge layer, in energy networks. My research is inline with the deliverables of the VPP4iSlands, FlexCHESS, and MASTERPIECES projects of EU Horizon program. Prior to my postdoctoral position, I served as an Associate Professor of Computer Engineering at Bu-Ali Sina University. I possess a strong passion for instructing courses in Computer Architecture, Synthesis and Optimization of Digital Systems, Network Optimization, and Machine Learning for Resource Allocation and Scheduling in Heterogeneous Autonomic Computing Systems.

For this, I conducted some master and PhD theses in software optimization techniques (like tuning MLs to run on resource-limited edge devices, tiny MLs, Tiny-LCS), offloading techniques (based on AI/ML, and ILP), distributed learning techniques (like FL/TL) for MLs at edge, and partial acceleration of deep neural networks on pipeline of FPGAs and embedded GPUs (like Jetson Nano clusters). Actually, our work covers many interesting aspects of optimization algorithms, as well as hardware/software accelerators, for big data processing frameworks. During this period, I supervised 27 BSc, 30 MSc, and 3 PhD students. Comunity Services: Further to service to national/international conferences and journals, I have been most active in international research collaborations, and serving as technical advisor to some startups in IoT and embedded design.University Services: I served as deputy dean of education at the Faculty of Engineering of Bu-Ali Sina University for 18 months.
