Examples of some of these plans include the formation of the Advisory Committee Touchstone (ACT) and continuing to build our local partnerships for Revolving Loan Funds which increased from $410,000 to $1,919,000. Considered options and implemented new Time-of-Use Demand & Energy rates for all customers as part of our "Take Control & $ave" initiative. Applied for incentives to begin promotion of a Community Solar Garden to provide a rate hedge against rising fossil fuel costs. During my eleven-year tenure we also completed the planning, approval and construction of a new headquarters facility. We also achieved approval of FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grants for 86 miles of line with additional applications under consideration for another 16 miles of line. Also, worked with the Management Team on operational plans, operations budget, capital equipment budget, project management (on time & on budget), construction work plan, financial forecasting, power requirements forecast, cost of service study, economic development and key account management.Southern Iowa Electric Cooperative includes 4700 consumers, with a total utility plant of $46 million, and revenues of $14 million. Another 2500 customers are served by successful negotiation of wholesale contracts with two municipal systems. One of these systems owns back-up generation and we are in the process of brokering the sale of capacity credits in the Mid-Continent Independent System Operator (MISO) market. Show less

Executed the policies established by the Board of Trustees of the cooperative with 7800 customers, $31 million in plant, and $10 million in gross revenue. Completed new substation and mobile substation plans to handle load capacity and reliability concerns.

Carried out the policies established by the Board of Directors of the cooperative with 4500 customers, $17 million in plant, and $3.5 million in gross revenue. Completed Cost of Service Study/Rate Design. Also, handled FERC 205 Filing to maintain lowest possible transmission rates.

Planned the use and investment of all cooperative and subsidiary assets. Prepared annual operating budgets for the Co-op of 10,000 customers, $22 million in plant, and $15 million in gross revenue. Also, supervised customer service & electrician/appliance sales and service. Personally developed the accounting procedures for our wholly owned, for-profit subsidiary which provided several counties with Direct Broadcast Satellite, Internet and 24-hour call center services.
