I worked on firmware development of the Flash management module for logical block management on Toshiba’s client SSD product (SATA based). I am currently working on the PCIe(NVMe) based SSD drive system validation for backend and frontend.

I worked on the firmware development for SanDisk’s Enterprise SSD solutions. I was involved in the design and development of backend modules for bootup, garbage collection and file translation layer. I was able to reduce initialization time, increase the write speed by improving garbage collection. This project gave me a good understanding of the fundamentals of SSD’s FTL design.

I worked on the firmware development for uSD cards of various densities (8/16/32/64GB) and NAND types (MLC/TLC). I was involved in the design, coding and testing of the whole product. I met many challenges including sudden changes in the requirements due to market conditions and narrow deadlines. I made the firmware design so that the cards adhere to the required read/write performance and lifetime as per market standards as well as speed class 4,6, 10 and UHS I and II.This project helped me develop good understanding of firmware design for uSD cards, NAND basics, simulator testing, hardware testing and insight into project management.

1. I worked on the design and development of UFS(Universal Flash Storage) Protocal Analyser for testing whether Samsung’s products are JEDEC compliant. My work involved implementing SCSI commands included in the UFS. This project gave me exposure to the SCSI command set.2. I worked on the design and development of exFAT(extended FAT ) debugger. This debugger was used by Samsung to test the data integrity and organisation of data storage in its exFAT based products. This project gave me some understanding of the exFAT file system.

I worked on the development of SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) soft phone. My work involved the design of the audio interface for the soft phone.

Mumbai Area, India

I worked on the development of Cursive Script Recognition software to detect handwritten words in Devanagari script. I implemented and modified parts of an algorithm for the segmentation and characterization of handwritten words to improve the accuracy of character recognition.
