When I first read Moraes' words "life is the art of encounters" I finally understood that every decision we make has an effect, sometimes immediate, but sometimes not so much. From a young age my passion was to travel, art and numbers. The finance and investment world caught my attention immediately and I spent seven years of my life learning about them from sales to consulting and research; however I was feeling it was much more than numbers to discover out there. In 2018 I decided to take a break to fulfill my dream of traveling the world. I must say that I started out as a tourist but the experiences I had and cultures I met went little by little shaping what I was looking for. I volunteered in permaculture and learned to reconnect with the soil; to understand that the current enviromental crisis begins upon the disconnection from our environment. I volunteered in solar energy projects, water harvesting, maintenance of edible forests, irrigation systems, among many things. I ended up learning the importance of natural resources and how difficult it is to obtain them in adverse situations, which helps you value what you have today. In this pathway "the art of encounters" happened towards people and projects from a platform where I can connect the pieces. With this new perspective, I see today the world of financing as a tool that not only can, but also has a duty to make a change.
