As a “sound guy” who is also a “coder” and studied music composition, I am excited to explore opportunities where these interests intersect.In a variety of different jobs, I have worked in professional audio for over 30 years, software development for over 20 years, game development for 10 years. While teaching over the past 15 years has been a great way to bring these fields together, I am interested in using my skillsets in a more fully engaged way than is currently possible in my position in academia.Allow me to briefly summarize my expertise and experience by sharing some relevant accomplishments:- I have over 200 credits for award-winning and critically acclaimed projects in the domains of live theatre, video, and interactive experiences serving as sound designer, composer, and/or producer/engineer.- I have participated in, and often led, software development projects specifically aimed at developing tools and technology in physical computing, motion capture, and augmented reality for use in interactive experiences.- Outside of the arts, I have developed data-driven applications related to job-tracking, logistics, and workflow automation.- In academia, I have taught course across a wide variety of topics related to audio, composition as well as other creative technology subjects and I was recently nominated as an Outstanding Teacher Award at Illinois State University.
