Collaborated with Dr. Kelley Crews to create and publish course materials for GRG 440L - Landuse/Landcover Change Practicum at the University of Texas at Austin. The course is designed in Google Earth Engine to teach best practices for classifying and mapping land use and land cover, as well as how they change over time in an experiential learning environment. Students taking the course are empowered to develop testable hypotheses answered by the original data analysis and interpretation.Google Earth Engine is a computing platform that allows users to run geospatial analysis on Google's infrastructure. Google Earth Engine combines a multi-petabyte catalog of satellite imagery and geospatial datasets with planetary-scale analysis capabilities. - Utilized in-situ vegetation data, public satellite imagery, and drone imagery to study savanna vegetation dynamics in southern Africa- Calculated area of vegetative cover and volume of browsable biomass of a private game reserve using drone imagery to inform management decisions on animal stocking rates. - Analyzed the effectiveness of clear-cutting for invasive woody plant species removal to combat bush encroachment. Monitored ecosystem recovery time following bush fires in the Kalahari using NASA Earth Observations. - Created 3-D models to visualize vegetation growth using Python.- Prepared and taught a 10-week course on remote sensing techniques in Google Earth Engine.
