I believe innovation passes through the lens of storytelling. I explore the intersection between communications and social innovation and I am always ready for a bigger challenge in media and technology. I am currently a senior digital producer at NBCUniversal. I'm fluent in English, Spanish and Italian with a passion for multimedia storytelling. I have several years of experience as a journalist and communications strategist. I have worked for newspapers, T.V. and technology companies in Colombia and in the U.S. In a recent scholar research, I studied a successful Civic Data and Open Data initiative promoted in Medellin, Colombia, towards the construction of Smart City. Such research provided the Data Team of the Los Angeles City Hall with a set of recommendations on how to apply a diverse and inclusive communication strategy using Open Innovation and Co-Creation as engagement tools based on the experience of Medellin’s Innovation Hub, RutaN. This research allowed me to learn about new developments in Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Artificial Intelligence and Data, which are technologies that have impacted media and journalism in the last years.My love for art is more than a passion! Oil painting has allowed me to see the world as an awesome place to discover, and has given me the tools to develop creative and innovative problem-solving strategies that I've applied in all aspects of my professional and personal life.
