In 1985, I wrote my first program in Pascal. I then used C and C++ to write device drivers for SCSI scanners. I have used Win32 APIs and DCOM for implementing printer drivers. These days I use Rust and Java to develop software.As an academic, I have taught undergrad and master's courses in computer science. I have taught principle of programming languages, systems programming, compiler construction, operating systems, database management systems, and data analysis and visualisation.I have many years of experience in deploying solutions for small and medium businesses. They impose stringent constraints on computing resources, cost, and quality of software. SMEs challenge one's engineering abilities. I enjoy such challenges.Of late, I have developed a deep interest in the design and implementation of cryptography protocols. The interaction of mathematical ideas, cryptography theory, and its practice are the focus of my research.
