Managed a group of 40-50 professionals to support Commercial and Medicare segments with similar responsibilities to the AVP role above. Selected accomplishments: • Worked on various corporate-wide financial and system projects to improve technology and processes for greater efficiency and controls. Some of the projects included: shortening monthly financial close from 10 business days to 7, developing standard taxonomies for claims reporting, reducing department head-count by 25% by eliminating and streamlining work, and creating methodology to calculate return on invested capital by segment. • Established monthly financial review meeting cadence with Chief Financial Officer and Group Commercial segment leaders including standard financial reports and metrics to be reviewed and monitored each month.• Completed financial contract negotiation and implementation of Humana + Oscar Health Group Commercial joint venture. Established accounting and reinsurance processes, controls, reporting and analysis required. • Performed due diligence and integrated financial processes for several Humana acquisitions (Cariten Health, OSF, CompBenefits, Inc., KMG America).
