My primary responsibility was to advance development of a computer vision system for an application in vehicle autonomy. The vision system includes a combination of single camera, passive stereo vision, and active stereo vision algorithms for target identification and real time vehicle positioning. C++ was primarily used for the software running the system, and the OpenCV library was utilized extensively. Camera calibration was utilized to obtain the camera's intrinsic and extrinsic parameters. Experiments were completed to check the accuracy of differing system setups and vision algorithms.I additionally worked on structured light 3D sensing for a scanner intended to be used in forensic investigations. This required obtaining test data and comparing results with benchmark scanners, in addition to identifying bugs in the source code and potential ways to improve the system performance.
