I am currently an Assistant Professor at the Knight Foundation School of Computing and Information Sciences, Florida International University. I am also the Founding Director of Sustainability, Optimization, and Learning for InterDependent networks laboratory (solid lab). I received my PhD from Carnegie Mellon University in 2019, where I received M.Sc. in 2015. I also hold a doctorate degree in Computer Science and Technology. Prior to joining CMU, I received B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Sharif University of Technology and Tarbiat Modares University, in 2011 and 2013, respectively. I use research and teaching as two pivotal facilitators of academic prosperity. I am passionate about educating the next generation of leading computer scientists, engineers, and researchers, and contributing to a diverse and inclusive academic environment. I am serving as a technical program committee of multiple ACM and IEEE conferences and workshops.I received the best paper award of “IEEE Conference on Computational Science & Computational Intelligence” in 2019, “Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy” in 2016, best reviewer award of four IEEE Transactions, and the dean’s honorary award from the ex-President of Sharif University of Technology in 2007. My research interests include distributed optimization and learning algorithms, distributed computing and intelligence, sensor networks, interdependent networks, and cyber-physical-social resilience. Application domains include smart cities, energy systems, transportation electrification, and healthcare. I am a life member of IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu, the honor society of IEEE. I served as the lead editor for a book series on ‘‘Sustainable Interdependent Networks’’ since 2017, as well as the Associate Editor of SN Operations Research Forum and International Transactions on Electrical Energy Systems.
