• Conduct baseline to identify gaps in prevailing on-farm harvest and post-harvest practices with reference to • Fibre quality preservation during picking, handling and storage and transportation of raw cotton. • Develop sustainable package of practices regarding fibre quality preservation of raw cotton during picking, • Handling, storage and transportation according to prescribed standards. • Conduct Training of Trainers (ToT) for field staff to create a trained cadre of field demonstrators. • Conduct training workshops for cotton growers to promote on-farm harvest and post-harvest practices with • Reference to fibre quality preservation. • Conduct field level training workshops for cotton pickers/farm workers to promote sustainable picking practices • And create awareness regarding Decent Work standards. • Ensure implementation of on-farm harvest and post-harvest standards with reference to fibre quality • preservation and Decent Work through establishing continuous liaison and providing onsite technical support to • Cotton growers and farm workers/cotton pickers. • Build the capacities of cotton growers and traders/middlemen to adopt fiber quality standards at different • Transition points of raw cotton. • Conduct linkage development meetings for cotton growers, traders/middle men and ginners to engage them in • Mutually agreed quality-based procurement system. • Develop information flow system regarding availability of sustainable seed cotton from farm to ginning.
