    Joined Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission as one of its Members on 01-09- 2011 on a five-year term.- Worked on an incurable occupational disease – silicosis – since mid-2012; was instrumental in setting up institutional arrangements for prevention, detection, compensation and rehabilitation of affected families; detected more than 5,400 cases, including over 330 deaths (this detection is several times more than detection in rest of India); got INR 1020 million sanctioned as compensation to victims and over INR 240 million for up-gradation of medical facilities for detection; submitted a special report containing 59 recommendations the implementation of which is being followed up by Rajasthan High Court through a public interest litigation registered by it by taking suo moto cognizance; and assisting the Court in its proceedings as per its direction.- Took suo moto cognizance of the delay in sanction of pension cases to the retired personnel of Rajasthan Government, streamlined and expedited pension payments, and achieved zero-pendency in several major departments. The oldest case in which relief was granted was to the widow of a person who died in 1967. Submitted a Special Report on this issue to the government in August, 2016.- Has taken cognizance and brought about considerable improvements in host of other issues like delayed registration of cases by the police, traffic related issues, police excesses, environmental issues, resettlement of families displaced for major drinking water projects, defence projects etc. Has submitted a Special Report on delayed registration of cases by the police, in August, 2016.- Has disposed of more than 10,000 pending cases from 2003 onwards – at present only a handful of cases of 2011 and 2012 are pending.
