• My duties as an onshore operations manager of a multinational diamond mining company, included but, were not limited to the organization and supervision of daily shipping activities, working closely with vessel captains, offshore managers, party chiefs and senior representatives of the client on board (De Beers and Namdeb). I continually implemented procedures that increased the efficiency, productivity and quality of the company. I ensured and facilitated the timely and safe delivery of crew and staff members while personally cooperating with our offices in Italy, Malta and South Africa. • Project Management and Planning.• Procurement and Logistical management.• Contract negotiation and tendering management.• Vendor management.• Among my key roles was the management and supervision of crew changes of staff from Europe, such as Italy, Ukraine, Poland, Croatia, as well as Namibia and South Africa. Moreover, I procured their visas, restricted areas permits, seaman’s books, medical certificates and maritime courses. During emergencies, my effective and efficient operational management was vital to the wellbeing of the company’s staff. My operational management duties extended to the management of finances of the Namibian office. • The execution of purchase orders, renewals of EPL’s, work visa acquisitions, requisitions and procurement comprised part of my duties while at Nutam Operations. I also arranged the entire process of removing, securing and transporting, to Europe, physical components of vessels that needed to be repaired or renewed. • I prepared and authorised the payroll of the Namibian and South African employee salaries and granted petty- cash to operational and administrative practices of the Namibian office according to my discretion.• I dealt, closely, with port authorities and agents and was part of the team that organised annual adjustments to the strategy of the country’s operations.
