P33 is Chicago's ambitious effort to become the country's most inclusive tech city and accelerate economic growth. As part of the founding team, I led our efforts to secure businesses and their senior executives as partners in designing and launching new solutions to ensure that Chicago's companies have ready access to the digital talent they need to compete, and that all Chicagoans are able to participate in tech-driven growth--especially the Black, Latinx and female Chicagoans who are underrepresented in tech.* Launched and led the Chicago Tech Talent Alliance of senior technology and talent executives from 50+ companies (Fortune 100, mid-size, and start-ups), executing a talent diagnostic process with each company, maintaining 1:1 relationships, and leading design and roll-out of talent solutions in response to shared company talent needs.* As first head of P33's Talent Solutions work, built the strategy, and hired and managed a team of four that launched four major talent initiatives: national talent attraction effort GoTechChicago (www.gotechchicago.com), tech career pathways platform TechPass (www.jointechpass.com), and a tech work-based learning initiative for college students, Strong Start (www.p33chicago.com/strongstart). * Led the design and launch of reskilling effort TechReady Illinois (www.techready.uillinois.edu) as a response to Covid layoffs, with 10 colleges and workforce training partners, ultimately transferring the program to the Discovery Partners Institute for sustained operations.* Led the vision, design, development and partnership-building for the TechChicago Equity Index, the region's first data-driven effort to understand what it will take to make Chicago the most inclusive tech city in the country. * Initiated internal impact planning to ensure our programs help us achieve organizational goals. * Led efforts to raise >$6M from corporate, philanthropic and government sources.

Served two mayoral administrations as the city's lead on workforce development.* Led the design, partnership-building and fundraising for Career Launch Chicago, a new youth apprenticeship initiative to advance Mayor Lightfoot's agenda to expand career opportunity for Chicago youth of color.* Organized and launched the Chicago Construction Careers Council, which established new policy and cross-agency coordination to use public spending on construction projects to expand access to construction careers for those historically kept out of the trades, in furtherance of Mayor Lightfoot's goals to improve racial equity and economic opportunity.* Renegotiated contracts with the city's workforce partners to improve data-driven decisionmaking.* Prepared and staffed the mayors at events, press conferences, meetings, etc. * Chaired cross-agency meetings with City Colleges of Chicago and the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership* Managed relationships with City Council members, department commissioners, sister agency leadership, companies, and other partners.

The Ballmer Group works to improve economic mobility in the United States by scaling effective non-profits, reforming public policies, transforming systems, and expanding the effective use of data for program management and investment decisions...all with the goal of building sustainable mechanisms to help people onto a positive economic trajectory.I managed a national grant portfolio of $120M+ commitments focused on college completion, transitions from learning to work, career advancement, and family economic security. Goals included: * Reducing disparities in post-secondary credential attainment by race and income * Improving post-secondary pathways to jobs, including apprenticeships and career tech ed * Re-connecting youth neither in school or work, and ensuring they have the support to thrive * Facilitating the transition to employment for formerly incarcerated individuals * Increasing career advancement rates for entry-level employees * Stabilizing families by addressing basic needs, including housing, food, health, and safety As one of the initial three hires onto the national grant-making team, I helped shape the Mission, Vision, Priorities, Strategies, and Operations of the organization. And I co-led the effort to ensure Ballmer Group's work addresses systemic racial inequities.

My grantmaking was focused on helping adults acquire the education, skills and credentials needed to secure family-supporting jobs. I managed two program areas: efforts to engage business as a partner in solving the problem of adult un- and under-employment; and an innovation fund used to generate, develop and test ideas with the potential to positively disrupt adult education and training practices.

Advised national beverage distributor on best practices in Key Account Management, and recommended revisions to client’s internal processes and communication flows to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the national salesforce.

Provided strategic and tactical consulting services to Fortune 500 companies operating in highly regulated industries. Projects included market entry/growth strategy, M&A support, competitive assessments, and opportunity identification. This position involved client management, project management and team management.

Wrote open-source intelligence reports for government clients seeking to understand weapons programs in Russia, China, Iran and North Korea. In addition, for a Fortune 100 defense company, I conducted a study of the global radar market, including market segmentation, size and forecast; competitive landscape; and strategic options.
