Our purpose is to nurture the innate wholeness of our community by cultivating healthy relationships and healing harm through circle-related practices of deep listening, honest sharing and personal responsibility to each other and our Earth.While we work locally, we have national recognition for facilitating healing and justice circles that serve clients from elementary to high school youths, as well as young adults that are mired within the juvenile criminal justice system. Our programs save young lives and immediately impact the community by helping to bring those who have committed a crime or violated a school regulation into a restorative relationship with the community. During the circle process, the one who offended learns to take responsibility for their actions, those who were harmed begin to heal, and actions are taken for restitution to the victim and the community. Restorative Resources is a Tier-1 Evidence Based Program.Our results show the success of our programs: of the almost 10,000 students we’ve served in the last two years, we saw a decline in expulsions the first year from 49 to 1, and suspensions reduced by 50%. And within our court system, we’ve seen recidivism by young offenders in our program drop by as much as 92%. Our new community Listening Circles are forums to help foster discussions about local issues and needs at a grassroots level, where the seeds of trust, respect and cooperation can take root and grow. As part of my strategic vision for the future of this organization, I am working to connect local services, businesses and institutions into a network for reducing harm and thus more comprehensively healing individuals and ultimately our greater community.
