Established multi-cloud Event Streaming and API Management platforms to support ANZs acceleration to cloud by simplifying cross-zone connectivity.Established an engineering culture of continual learning and service-improvement.

In this role I lead the DPE engagement with ANZ bank's Open Banking initiative; this involved providing technology Delivery and Architectural oversight as well as consulting to the business program leads.

As Domain Architect I established a strategy and roadmap for an API lead Integration Architecture; provided strategy guidance to Business Unit aligned Enterprise Architects; and provided support to solution architects, and Engineers on effective integration solution and platform design.

In this role I was responsible for helping to build and shape an effective integration delivery practice, through simplification of the integration architecture. Publishing and owning design principles, patterns and standards to guide Solution Architects and Integration Designers. Supporting and mentoring the integration delivery team as they move from traditional integration methods to an API model. In guiding ANZ New Zealand towards an API focused microservices architecture I engaged with business stakeholders to educate and evangelise on the use of APIs, supported the inclusion of “API thinking” into technology roadmaps, and educated delivery stakeholders in the design and use of APIs to accelerate delivery.

As a consulting architect, my core responsibilities included direct consulting to clients, such as New Zealand Transport Agency and the Ministry for Business Innovation and Employment. I also took part in practice development, pre-sales and sales activities.

As manager of the Implementation team at IntegrationWorks I had responsibility for resource and financial management of the implementation team; project scoping and preparation of Statements of Work; management of project delivery; platform and service design; technical leadership and Quality Assurance; providing technical training; platform and service implementation; and a number of other technical pre-sales activities.I lead successful implementations for customers including: ANZ, Public Trust, Energy Market Services, TransPower, and the Ministry for Business Innovation and EmploymentI was also seconded to the Architecture team as an acting Technical Architect for New Zealand Racing Board, and New Zealand Transport Agency.

In my short time as senior developer at Integration Works I designed and developed a number of integration services for Transpower, EMS and NZX. I was also responsible for providing technical leadership to the delivery team. The leadership aspects of this role were formalised and increased in my move to manager of the team.

While at IRD I worked on a number of significant projects including Tax Agent Web Scraping, a project that was successful in implementing a service interface to tax payer account information stored in the Mainframe. I was responsible for the design and implementation of the Mainframe changes to support the integration solution.
