M. Patrick Moran holds three degrees from the University of Western Ontario (B.A. 1973, M.B.A. 1975 and LL.B. 1978). While attending law school Patrick taught Business Administration at the University of Western Ontario, Kings College and Management ­Development Programs at Fanshawe College. Patrick joined Hicks Morley on his call to the Bar in 1980 and became a Partner at Hicks Morley in 1985. Patrick is known as a practical problem-solver who brings a down-to-earth and creative approach to the practice of law for bot­h public and private sector clients generally, and School Boards, Municipalities and Construction Industry clients more specifically.Patrick's practice focuses on all matters relating to labour and employment law including arbitration, negotiation, provincial and federal labour board matters, workplace human­ rights and occupational health and safety. For the past 25 years, he has acted as counsel to both the employer bargaining agencies and major employers in the elevator industry nationally, and in the Power Sector in Ontario. Patrick represents Ontario's largest School Board on labour issues with its maintenance and construction bargaining unit. He currently sits as employer counsel representative on the OLRB Advisory Committee.
