As a training officer, I was mainly responsible for formulating and implementing Individual Training Programme (ITP) through professional assessment and curating motivational and behavior management plans for trainees. Secondary responsibilities included, engaging in continuous assessment, training and evaluation of trainees’ holistic development and monitoring and implementing programs for the healthy development of trainees in the area of sensory awareness and sexual identity and relationships. I was also part of the curriculum development and caregiver initiative team where, strategic lesson guide and meaningful events were planned and executed.

As a teacher-in training, I planned, supervised and implemented the programme for the class in accordance with centre’s policies and framework. I was taught to use a variety of appropriate teaching and caring methods to ensure high-quality learning takes place. I was also responsible for creating a stimulating and engaging pleasant learning environment that promotes self-directed learning

As an assistant teacher, I facilitated and supported the teacher in classroom activities such as storytelling, drama and literacy. Julia Gabriel aided in moulding my creativity and confidence as it is a company that specializes in drama. During my work at Julia Gabriel, I learnt how to interact with both parents and children and how to change/modify a lesson/activity based on a child's response or suggestion.

As a research assistant at NIE, I had to go to the various primary schools in Singapore to conduct and facilitate in educational research pertaining to language, mathematics and memory. This job enabled me to understand the varying degree of understanding and knowledge children of the same age possess and the various intervention that can be implemented to widen their knowledge and understanding.
