About Sloane Urbina-Dunn
As a recent master's student at ASU's School of Social Transformation studying justice, I have seen the unity and interconnection that social issues can have. Although my passion started out with gender equity, my exposure to new individuals at ASU has helped me expand my passion to issues such as LGBTQ+ inclusion, race, social and cultural pedagogy, and youth justice/education. These passions stem from my involvement in organizations such as the Next Generation Service Corps and the ASU Derby Devils as well as the courses that I have taken during my time at ASU. I see my mission as one of collaboration. Meaning that through making connections and talking to people from all walks of life and all sectors there is a way to communicate and solve the social issues that I study in my classes. Through this idea, I find that by engaging with various communities and through communication can work be done to aid in the progression of my goals.
