My internship at SNGPL during the summer following my second year as a Mechanical Engineering student was an invaluable experience that provided a deep dive into the intricacies of Pakistan's gas infrastructure. The internship offered a unique opportunity to understand the corporate culture of a behemoth that supplies gas to over 60% of the country.A cornerstone of the internship was exploring the heart of the gas distribution system - compression stations. I gained firsthand knowledge of the turbines and machinery that propel gas through the vast network. However, it was the Corrosion Control department that truly captivated my interest. I delved into the critical task of maintaining the health of the already laid pipelines, learning about the sophisticated methods employed to prevent corrosion and detect potential leakages. The SCADA system was another highlight, showcasing how technology facilitates seamless communication and monitoring across the SNGPL network.Beyond the technical aspects, I was exposed to the broader picture of gas delivery. Analyzing the nationwide pipeline system and the various delivery mechanisms provided a comprehensive understanding of the logistical challenges involved. The internship also emphasized safety, with a focus on the safety devices installed in compression stations and the role of SCADA in safeguarding the 9000+ km pipeline network.Key Learnings:• In-depth understanding of gas compression and distribution systems• Proficiency in corrosion prevention and detection techniques• Knowledge of SCADA systems and their role in network management• Appreciation for safety protocols in the gas industry• Exposure to the complexities of managing a nationwide infrastructure

I used to work at Photomath as a freelancing solver, which essentially meant I along with others, was at the backdrop of solving mathematics questions from all sorts of fields ranging from algebra, calculus all the way to geometry for students of all educational levels.
