Venari Resources is an Oil Exploration company. In this position I obtained experience related to the Oil & Gas industry and the applications pertaining to exploration and discoveries. I maintained a WAN and performed security mitigation and deployed various network monitoring utilities, such as IP flow sensors and SNMP utilities. I also designed and deployed 10Gb network backbones for NAS and SAN solutions and data interpretations. I provided IT user support and worked closely with various vendors for user connectivity, such as Halliburton/Landmark and Paradigm.

Daily responsibilities include designing, deploying and troubleshooting various networks, including Enterprise Networks. Implementing network security, understanding network types, working with network media, understanding and implementing routing and switching fundamentals in a primarily Cisco WAN, understanding the TCP/IP & OSI models, IP addressing, IPV4, IPV6, operating and configuring IOS devices, extending switched networks with VLANs, determining IP routes, managing IP traffic with access lists, & establishing point-to-point connections, working with servers, VMWare, and in Linux and Windows environments. Work daily on various cisco devices such as ASR’s, ASA’s, 6500 platforms, 7600 platforms, 3750 platforms, 2901, platforms, 2960 platforms, work with BGP, EIGRP, OSPF protocols, configured ether-channels, and have to use a multitude of different databases, applications, and programs.

Assigned to the “Project Light Speed” work force. Preparing the F-2 side for the U-Verse upgrades. Duties include being responsible for conditioning twisted pair copper wires. Operating “Davar” test equipment in order to test terminal boxes and prepare them for the U-Verse service. Conditioning and replacing pedestals and bonding or grounding them. Working on aerial terminals. Splicing cables up to 600 pair in size. Operating a company owned service vehicle and following proper safety regulations pertaining to a commercial vehicle. (Achievements) Completed Telephone Pole Climbing School, completed F-2 Facility Technician Training.

Project Implementation and Management involving multi-million dollar communities.Met with and interacted with clients, coordinated with civic entities, conducted contractual negotiations, marketing, new home sales, trained staff, supervised 1-2 team members, interviewed, practiced and implemented superior customer service, worked on computers and online database management programs. Designed and deployed extensive marketing strategies.(Achievements) During 2006 I was directly responsible for $4,800,000.00 in new home sales; this helped contribute to a record year with the company. In 2007 I was directly responsible for $4,350,000.00 in new home sales.

Sales and Support Management in a double-header, retail department store.Responsibilities included interviewing, training staff, supervising housekeeping, supervised and scheduling a team of 10 - 12 individuals, responsible for the shipping and receiving docks at both stores, worked on a token ring server and a POS server, maintained wireless printers and computers and installed updates and software, worked on a digital database, ordered supplies for the store, supervised sales floor, practiced and implemented superior customer service, and assisted with loss prevention, operated security and surveillance systems.

Law Enforcement and custody duties in a Mental Health Environment. Mid-level Management.Was responsible for the supervision and training of over 60 Correctional Officers and 4-6 Sergeants of Correctional Officers. Maintained security at a mental health facility, conducted investigations, created detailed and extensive reports, conducted interviews, was a certified instructor with the agency and often trained staff and other supervisors, was a chemical agents instructor, responded to and managed life threatening situations on a daily basis, carried firearms and employed the use of chemical agents, often worked with and coordinated with other law enforcement agencies and civic entities, was often the highest ranking official responsible and accountable for the entire facility, gained experience in the use of verbal intervention and completed medical/psychiatric documentation in medical charts. Used an intranet and database to submit reports and review records.(Achievements) During my career with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice I experienced and witnessed an event that no one wants to have take place in this type of environment. On April 27, 1999 a hostage situation took place at the unit I was assigned to and I was able to assist in the overall operations to resolve the incident. During this event, I was able to gain experience and knowledge in managing and resolving critical situations. In addition, there were many times when I would have to supervise offender deaths and complete written reports and preserve crime scenes.
