I could define the start of my career as the day I realized that virtually anything could be modeled through programming. Although, to be more accurate, it would be the day I understood that this is achieved by stacking semiconductors and metal layers in creative ways. Since then, I decided to acquire the knowledge needed to work in this field.The first big step towards this direction was becoming an electrical engineering undergraduate student at the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM). There, I engaged not only into research activities, but also into returning the acquired knowledge to the community and teaching my peers. Thanks to my advisors, I changed my focus from the digital realm to the analog realm, but still in the microelectronics realm. My research about oscillators for radar applications ballasted my application for an exchange experience at Texas Tech University (TTU) and for an internship at Cadence Design Systems.As soon as I graduated, I was promoted to an application engineer position at Cadence. There, I worked 2 years in the custom IC and simulation team, focused on IC electrical simulations. Also, still due to my constant knowledge-seeking mindset, I took courses at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), trying to prepare myself to next step, the graduate school.My performance during my exchange experience at TTU, along with the qualifications I acquired since then, supported my application for a PhD there. Currently, in graduate school, I am still striving to expand my knowledge in the analog IC design field. Now, however, I am not just absorbing information but also contributing to the state-of-the-art through my research.
