My job involves exploring new investment opportunities and promoting SRP as a provider of finance and advice for investment projects in Asturias. I engage with potential clients (entrepreneurs and SMEs), and investment funds and other players that could coinvest and collaborate with us to foster the growth of Asturian companies. I'm also in charge of ESG, Compliance and Quality issues.

I've been in charge of inward investment promotion for the region of Asturias (Northern Spain), in close coordination with SEKUENS -the regional EDO-, until the end of 2014. Along these years I dealt with FDI promotion, lead generation and investment facilitation, taking part in over 150 investment projects across different sectors, involving the creation of around 1.000 jobs.

I was part of a specialized team responsible for investment promotion; we had to design and implement investment campaings, provide assistance to potential investors and aftercare services, among other tasks. Part of my job consisted in organising business trips involving the president of Asturias, in order to promote the image of Asturias to facilitate future investments.

After years of supporting export and investment activities from Spanish companies abroad, I found myself on the other side of the table. I identified and developed a network of distributors in European and African markets, dealt with customers orders and managed all financial and transportation issues. This experience has been instrumental in helping me understand the needs of companies, and to better support them in my subsequent responsibilities.

I was second in command at the Trade Commission, ensuring support and useful contacts to Spanish exporters and investors. We were in charge of six countries (Senegal, Mauritania, Mali, The Gambia, Guinea Bissau and Cape Verde), and I travelled extensively to built relationships with local businessmen and officials, and institutions such as the delegations of the European Commission, the World Bank, or the African Development Bank. I was in charge of the Export Promotion Plan, which involved organizing and developing different activities to encourage Asturian companies to export and expand abroad. I combined the job with a very useful evening course on international trade at the University of Oviedo.
