As junior lecturer, I am teaching both an academic skills and thesis-writing course in the Bachelor and premaster programme for Pedagogical Sciences at Radboud University!

In this position, I worked on a number of research projects mostly focused on youth with behavioral problems. part of my research was academic, in connection with the Radboud University, about moral development of youth with behavioral problems. The other, more practical research projects focused on evaluating and improving residential groups within the organisation

In this half-year project, we conducted interviews and research into the current state of small-scale residential youth care facilities. What are the visions and methods used? How is monitoring done? How do you guarantee a good education? And most importantly: what are the differences between small-scale and regular facilities. The outcomes of this project will be used in a upcoming longitudinal evaluation of small-scale facilities at a national level. Results of this study served as a preliminary investigation for a larger 5-year research programme to promote small-scale residential groups

For my main project, I used fMRI data from the European multisite FEMNat-CD Study to investigate effect of ADHD comorbidity in children and adolescents with conduct disorder in a conscious face processing task, contrasting angry, fearful and neutral facial expression. Analysis was done using SPM12. Next to this, I helped with preprocessing and manually edited a large of number of structural MRI scans using FreeSurfer and assessed their quality for the ENIGMA Antisocial Behavior Working GroupSupervisors: dr. In this internship, I examined unique connections between neurobiological data as measured by restingstate fMRI, and behavioral measures, measured by the CBCL, across a large sample of children with ASD and/or ADHD, using a datadriven, transdiagnostical method, For this project, I built an entirely new rs-fMRI preprocessing pipeline using functions from FSL and AFNI and I conducted my statistical analyses in R.Next to my research, I was a test-assistant for the YOUth-cohort, a large-scale Dutch corhort study. Here, I tested children aged 8-13, tasks included: supervision during MRI scanning, administering the full WISC, guiding several eyetracker and computer tasks.Supervisor: dr. Dienke Bos. Grade: 8.6

In this non-academic internship, I worked on two separate research projects. In the first, we examined hot and cold executive functioning, as measured by neuropsychological tasks in the Amsterdam Neuropsychological Tests, as a possible predictor for future recidivism and additional criminal activities in already delinquent adolescents (age 16-23). I was responsible for acquiring new participants, contacting third-parties for inclusion and doing the tests. In the other project, I was a data-assistant for an eyetracker research into emotion recognition and psychopathy at the Pieter Baan Centre. Here, I processed and analysed the behavioural data and re-built their dataset from scratch.Supervisor: dr. Maaike Kempes
