Planning and implementing of new internet gaming sites for licensees. This includes installing servers (both physical and virtual), network hardware and software. I can share one story about my work:I still remember these faces, looking at me as if I said something inappropriate. We were at the meeting discussing different issues so we could shorten the time, three long weeks, of the new site setup after the hardware install. I said that our goal should be to eliminate this setup time altogether - to have all the software configured and running at the same time the engineer's flight lands at home returning from the hardware installation trip. Everybody were like - this is not possible, at all, lets return to our issues now.Before the next new site setup project I analyzed the process and redesigned the old flow of tasks. I prepared and developed some new automation tools during the procurement phase. I reserved the resources from other departments for specifics days and times of the week I was going to do the hardware installation. I changed the order of setting up different types of hardware in the datacenter. Everything worked out, most tasks executed simultaneously. The site was operational when my return flight landed. One + three weeks to one + zero weeks - done.

Management of IT infrastructure - ESX, LAN, LUN, VLAN, VPN, Linux etc.One story from the beginning of 00's when I started working there. Suddenly there was burst of incoming mails, shortly the phonecalls started coming to me and my manager. The complaints were coming: "I Can not read emails; Thecomputer is so slow"; "There are hundreds of emails in my inbox"; "My computer does not respond at all anymore".I logged in to the mail server and read the logs. In a minute I realized what had happened. I closed the mail service to stop the virus spreading, but I kept the logging running. I instructed users to keep the computers turned on and just not to use them for a while. Luckily, there was already a patch released from Microsoft. I downloaded the patch, studied its command line switches and tried the installation via remote command line.Next thing was to grep the infected computers IP's from mail server logs and feed them to a remote command execution script which I had already written and used in my previous job. In a couple of hours all computers were patched and I could open the mail service for "business as usual".
