I am Maarten Kolk, creative entrepreneur within the cultural sector. Since 2022 I run my own design studio Kolk+, after collaborating for 13 years with Guus Kusters in studio Maarten Kolk & Guus Kusters (MKGK).Kolk+ is a research and design office specialized in designing spatial installations and total identities for the cultural and public sector. Kolk+ analyzes every design question intensively and conducts in-depth research with a specialization in material and color. The design office carries out both concrete, small projects and freer, large-scale assignments. Varying from exhibition design to visual identity and design research projects.I am also active as a teacher and coach in art and design education. At the KABK in the Hague I teach various courses within the interior architecture & furniture design department. Besides that I am study mentor and teamleader and part of the core team in that same department. At the Design Academy Eindhoven I have been associated with the bachelor design departments Man & Well Being and the Morning StudioAs the owner of a creative company and a teacher in art education, I regularly switch roles; from spatial designer to color researcher, from teacher to coach to teamleader. Regardless of the role I take on, I am always involved and proactive, I like to work thoroughly and accurately with a keen eye for design in its spatial environment.
