Performing fundamental, translational and clinical research using advanced rehabilitation technology, with a focus on pathology of human movement.

At the VR Rehabilitation department of the Military Rehabiliation Centre 'Aardenburg' in Doorn, The Netherlands, I get to work with patients, do research and develop new training and research applications to make rehablitation more serious AND fun!

In 2008 I investigated the long term outcomes of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation program for chronic low back pain. In 2010 I started investigating dynamic trunk control of patients witch chronic low back pain, first as part of my master 'Human Movement Sciences', and since 2013 as part of my doctoral program.

In the academic year 2008-2009 I lectured 5 first-year courses. Because I started studying Human Movement Sciences in 2009 I stopped lecturing, but I still trained and help individual physical therapy students in the final year of their study to write a scientific paper untill 2015. Since 2015 I'm involved in several research projects in the movement lab.

Postdoctoral researcher in Eurobench consortium, studying the effect of laterally inclined surfaces on gait stability with and without ortheses/prostheses/exoskeletons. Supervision of several Human Movement Science master students.

My PhD project was a collaboration between the VU University Amsterdam and the Military Rehabilitation Centre 'Aardenburg' in Doorn. I studied trunk control in chronic low back pain combining my fundamental and clinical knowledge.
