Commonland is a nonprofit organization dedicated to large-scale landscape restoration to promote sustainable development. Founded in 2013, its mission is to transform degraded landscapes by working with local communities, businesses, and governments to restore ecosystems and improve livelihoods. The organization’s approach is based on the **4 Returns framework**, which aims to deliver four key benefits: 1. **Inspiration** (renewed hope and purpose for people),2. **Social returns** (job creation and strengthening communities),3. **Natural returns** (biodiversity and ecosystem restoration), and 4. **Financial returns** (sustainable businesses and economies).Commonland partners with farmers, landowners, and stakeholders to implement long-term, sustainable solutions, with projects across the globe focusing on the regeneration of ecosystems, agriculture, and local economies.

Fresh Forces (Frisse Blikken) supports organisations to innovate, accelerate and transform their business with a focus on organisational development, strategy implementation and creative growth. In addition, Frisse Blikken develops the entrepreneurial skills of its young professionals in order to kick-start a next generation of successful entrepreneurs.

We have created over 100 serious games, online games and simulations for various organisational development and behavioural change purposes.

Verschillende transities verlopen tegelijk. Om totale chaos te voorkomen is er behoefte aan een integrale transitie aanpak. Deze moet voorkomen dat het Natura2000 gebied voor altijd verloren zal gaan en alle ecosysteem diensten zoals bestuiving, drinkbaar grondwater en vruchtbare grond.In Landshapers – The Game mag jij vanuit een specifieke rol aan de knoppen zitten waarmee je de natuurlijke veerkracht van De Groene Streek mag bepalen. Dit doe je samen met een scala aan andere spelers, die op hun beurt weer de rol van bijvoorbeeld industrie, aannemer, Tech gigant of varkensboer vertegenwoordigen.Het creëren van een zo hoog mogelijk natuurlijke veerkracht is het uitgangspunt, maar…vergeet vooral je eigenbelangen niet. Het mag niet zo zijn dat de transitie jouw ondergang betekent.Daarnaast moet je slim rekening houden met de veranderlijke publieke opinie en politieke invloed. De speler die zowel haar eigen doelstellingen behaald, slim weet te innoveren, mensen mee krijgt EN de natuur weer veerkrachtig maakt… WINT.

Het is niet langer voldoende om waardevolle en duurzame initiatieven gefragmenteerd en geïsoleerd te laten voortbestaan; het is tijd om onze krachten te bundelen voor meer aandachtige impact en een effectievere inzet van onze gezamenlijke middelen. Samen kunnen we immers het grote plaatje zien en zijn we beter in staat onze acties op te schalen en creatief met vraagstukken om te gaan. En dat betekent collectief minder kosten en meer energie en inspiratie!

Forest Forces is about protecting nature by making alliances: connecting local forces with national justice forces and supported by international forces.Forest Forces is about combining (ancient) local knowledge, such as from indigenous communities, with (modern) scientific knowledge, such as from criminology and GPS technology.Forest Forces is about applying scientific concepts and best practices of criminology in order to combat and especially prevent forest and wildlife crime, such as based on the criminological concept of situational crime prevention.

We have created a policy exercise for the hoogwaterbeschermingsprogramma (high water protection program) in Limburg. The exercise simulates the decision making proces around the construction of all types of river water infrastructure, like barriers, dikes and high water channels. All administrative bodies are represented, like local government, provincial government and central government etc.

We created a recruitment game for NNIP where players can experience the full scope of activities around sustainable investments. The game is called Asset Matters and is played both inside and outside the NNIP.

Frisse Blikken/Fresh Forces developed in co-creation with Eneco Group The Newtonian Shift (TNS) energy transition game 1. We played the game intensively within Eneco, creating awareness and evoking behavioural change. We also played TNS on many locations worldwide and partnering with organisations such as Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI), The Natural Step en MaRS AES.In 2017 we created a follow up transition game, The Newtonian Shift 2.0, updating the game to the current situation.

We co-developed a learning and development trajectory for Fonterra called THRIVE. This learning programme entails 2 serious games. THRIVE won the Award for Talent Acquisition, Development & Management Award at the HR Institute of NZ Awards.

We created a game called Long Life Lab that enables transmural care among an ecosystem of health care organisations.

Together with Fresh Forces/Frisse Blikken, we developed a game called: Het Lot van Wattland.

Let me begin with stating that I had an amazing time at Twynstra Gudde. I had the privilege to work together with big (inter)national - and governmental organizations on ‘tough’ change issues. During these five years I specialized myself in working with (learning) games and simulations within leadership programs, organization development trajectories and professionalization trajectories. It shaped my systemic understanding of issues, learned to work on an executive level and trained my multi stakeholder facilitation skills. I worked on various thrilling dossiers, but I’ll elaborate briefly on the three that I’m most proud of:1. Organizing and hosting a simulation (embedded in a mutual gains framework) with the multi-stakeholder steering committee of a large Dutch infrastructural project. The goal was to open up a delicate dialogue around trust, cooperation and leadership. We succeeded our goal. Amazing feeling!2. Co-designing and co-hosting a change trajectory for a large operational body within the municipality of Amsterdam. This intense project lasted a full year and at it’s core was a game that needed to give clarity on the need and purpose of the organization itself (the organization was slightly ‘orphaned’). It led to many small ‘grass-root’ initiatives of the employees themselves with the aim of ‘getting in contact’ again.3. Co-designing and co-hosting an introductory program for a large Dutch energy company. At the hart of this program was a game where the participants experienced, in miniature and within a day, the essence of the company. Moreover, they experienced changes they had to make with regard to sustainability aiming at carbon free production in 2030.
