The Director East & Southern Africa Region provides leadership to Evidence Action's flagship programs in the region. The role provided leadership to country programs in Kenya, Uganda, Malawi and Zambia to deliver high impact, cost-effective programs in Maternal & Child Health, Neglected Tropical Diseases and Clean Water reaching millions across the region. • Responsible for management and strategic leadership of the Malawi programme which serves over 600.000 clients per year through: 25 owned and operated health centres; 20 mobile clinical outreach teams and a social marketing portfolio, providing comprehensive quality health care services with a focus throughout Malawi.• Oversees an annual budget of $10 million, ensuring efficient and effective management of financial, administrative and operational resources for over 250 staff members.• Lead the Total Quality Management approach to clinical quality improvement, including; incident reporting and management, continues professional development, competency assessment and monitoring• Lead and design the country programme strategic, annual business planning process, and deliver a robust business model ensuring the ongoing growth of healthy income streams including innovative financing. • Operational management of all health service delivery mechanisms, steering on performance in quality and impact• External representation of the organisation in various fora and new- and old media• Build strong partnerships with central and local government, health professionals, businesses, peer agencies and community, including leading public sector strengthening interventions• Lead in the adoption of innovative solutions and evidence-based decision making to improve clinical quality and increase effectiveness of delivery channels and support operational research to better understand our clients and barriers to access • Successful start-up and project management of $14m USAID youth and adolescent SRHR contract
